STL Lianyungang Petrochemical Olefins Comprehensive Utilization Project was Completed and Put into Operation

After 665 days of hard work by the STL team and the majority of the construction workers,  phase II of the Lianyungang Petrochemical olefin comprehensive utilization project was officially put into operations on August 23rd. After several days of debugging and operating, qualified products have been stably produced, and a safe, green, and on-time operation has been achieved. It marks that Lianyungang Petrochemical olefin comprehensive utilization project has been fully completed and put into operation and has successfully become the largest green and low-carbon raw material comprehensive utilization enterprise in China, laying a solid foundation for building a low-carbon chemical new materials science and technology enterprise. On August 27th, STL Lianyungang Petrochemical held the launching ceremony of the comprehensive olefin utilization project in Xuwei base, Lianyungang Municipal. Secretary of Lianyungang Municipal Committee, Mr. Ma Shiguang, announced the successful commissioning of the project.

According to introducing, Lianyungang petrochemical projects is an important part of the STL industry layout of light raw materials integration, planning and construction of 1.35m PE t/a, 2.19m EOE t/a and 260k ACN t/a, with a total investment of 33.5b RMB. It is one of the major projects in Jiangsu Province, which can provide sufficient raw materials that support  the construction of new energy, new polymer ,and functional chemicals. After phase II of this project, operations can convert and sell about 5m tons of commodities, with an output value of about 35b RMB.

 

The project uses international advanced technology to make up for many technical blanks, that have advantages of less pollution, a higher conversion rate, and shorter process flow Fully implementing CO₂ trapping and utilization, carry out energy conservation and carbon reduction from the source, process and end. During the operation of the device, waste heat, residual pressure and steam are utilized in the steps to effectively improve the comprehensive utilization rate of resources.

 

"In a short period of five years, we have fully built the country's largest olefin comprehensive utilization industry project, which is also an important milestone for STL to build a low-carbon chemical new materials science and technology company", said Mr. Yang Weidong, the chairman and president of STL.

 

Once the project is put into full operation, it will further form ethylene as the leading industrial cluster that will effectively improve the raw material self-sufficiency rate of carbon two high value-added new material cluster, provide strong support for the transformation and upgrading to downstream industry. The project is of great significance in perfecting the industrial system, expand its scale, enhance support capacity, drive economic development, and realize high quality development of the chemical industry in China.
