On July 12th, STL and JXEDZ held the signing ceremony of STL R&D Center. Mr. Li Jun, Deputy Secretary of Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Jiaxing attended the ceremony and gave an important instruction that JXEDZ fully supports STL’s development in Jiaxing and provides their unwavering support to the project landing and completion with the idea of “the earlier, the better”. Mr. Qi Li, member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Committee, Vice Mayor and Secretary of the Party Working Committee of JXEDZ, Mr. Dai Feng, Director of the Management Committee of JXEDZ and Mr. Yang Weidong, Chairman and President of STL witnessed the ceremony on the spot.

Vice Mayor Mr. Qi Li acknowledged in his speech that JXEDZ strives to put High-Quality Development as the first priority, and further implemented the Two-Wheel-Drive strategy of “advanced manufacturing and modern service industries”. During the critical development period, companies with competitive power were the base of High-Quality Development and STL was the excellent partner which JXEDZ was sincerely looking forward to. He shared that JXEDZ would fully promote the project to land faster and develop better under the high attention and support and care from Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government.

Chairman Mr. Yang Weidong expressed that STL actively responded to the decision deployment of Zhejiang Province on "building a global advanced manufacturing base", pledged to increase the investment on technology R&D according to the requirements of the Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal government on the construction of "smart and innovative strong city", also to promote the deep combination of industrial chain and creation chain. He pointed out that R&D Center focuses on key technologies, building an ecosystem in new material area, and sharing more beauty of chemicals with all the world. Chairman Mr. Yang Weidong expressed in his speech that STL would build R&D Center as the most effective creating platform in Yangtze River Delta Region, which could form a high-end talents-gathering field, build a new drive for science and technology creation, gain the accelerated speed of high quality development, present a new answer sheet of intelligent manufacturing and innovation, and become a new engine to promote the high quality development of regional economy and society.

The signed project mainly focused on four areas such as catalysts, new energy materials, new polymer materials and functional chemicals. It planned to engage over 2000 R&D personnel and to invest over 10 bn RMB and strives to build National or Provincial Key Laboratory. The project is poised to be the industry’s first-class and the most effective R&D HQ at home and abroad, as well as the industrial innovation platform combined with functions such as business incubation, research development and achievement promotion, etc.
