On August 28, 2023, the Secretary of the Lianyungang Municipal Party Committee, Ma Shiguang, Mayor Xing Zhengjun, and other city leaders met with Chairman Yang Weidong and the joint CEO  McCrea.

Ma Shiguang and Xing Zhengjun, representing the Municipal Party Committee and Government, welcomed  McCrea and Yang Weidong's visit to Lianyungang and expressed gratitude to Energy Transfer and STL for their care and support for the development of Lianyungang.

Ma Shiguang shared that Lianyungang is one of the first batch coastal open cities in China and also one of the seven national level petrochemical industry bases in China. With the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the CPC and the spirit of President Xi's important speeches on Jiangsu and Lianyungang the messages and intent are being fully implemented. Lianyungang will accelerate the leading industries such as petrochemicals and new materials and focus on building a modern industrial system with Lianyungang characteristics. The first phase of the light hydrocarbon comprehensive processing and utilization project invested by STL in Lianyungang has been completed and if fully operational. The planned second phase of investment has mature conditions such as resource supply and technical support, we hope that the Energy Transfer, STL, and Lianyungang can work together to accelerate the construction of the second phase project and put it into operation as soon as possible. At the same time, we hope that the Energy Transfer can continue to strengthen the connection with Lianyungang, fully expand upstream and downstream cooperation in the industrial chain with enterprises such as STL, jointly build a low-carbon, green, and intelligent global new material industry chain. Lianyungang will continue to support the development of enterprises, strive to create a first-class business environment, provide optimal service and strongest guarantees for project construction and enterprise operation, wholeheartedly support enterprises to grow and strengthen.
