STL, in Collaboration with Jiaxing Nanhu High-Tech Zone and the Department of Chemistry, Fudan University, Jointly Creates a New Model "Dumbbell-shaped" for Campus-enterprise Cooperation

On February 6th, at the signing ceremony of the Innovation Consortium between Nanhu High-Tech Zone and the Department of Chemistry of Fudan University (FDU), STL, the Department of Chemistry of FDU, and Nanhu District Science and Technology Bureau signed a technical cooperation agreement. Relying on the “dumbbell-shaped” model of university–industry collaboration, this innovative initiative aims to establish provincial benchmark joint laboratories, serve as a talent training base for Doctorate and Master Degree Programs, and foster innovation consortia. With a keen focus on creating a technology service innovation platform with influence across the Yangtze River Delta region, the collaboration is set to catalyze high-quality economic development. Shao Panfeng, secretary of the Nanhu District CPC Committee, Zhou Mingfei, Director of the Department of Chemistry, Fudan University, and Shen Xiaowei, Vice President of STL, graced the occasion, underscoring the significance of this milestone agreement.

Secretary Shao Panfeng pointed out the significance of the Innovation Consortium between Jiaxing Nanhu High-tech Zone and the Department of Chemistry, Fudan University had comprehensive strategic cooperation. This partnership marks the inception of a novel model of campus-enterprise cooperation, which aims at seamlessly integrating scientific research with industrial endeavors. Secretary Shao stressed that this initiative will effectively leverage the research capabilities and strengths of the Department of Chemistry, Fudan University to better serve the development of local industrial platforms and physical enterprises.

 

Doctor Zhou Mingfei stated this signing marked the initiation of deepening campus-enterprise cooperation, contributing to the advancement of major national strategies for scientific and technological innovation and fostering a new pattern of regional development. He expressed optimism that this opportunity will facilitate deeper exchanges and cooperation between fundamental research and industry.

 

In the coming years, STL will leverage the resource and platform advantages of the Innovation Consortium, effectively combining the research strengths of universities with the practical capabilities of enterprises. In collaboration with FDU, STL will spearhead initiatives in cutting-edge domains such as catalysts and functional materials, driving forward the development of high-end domestic materials technology. Also, STL is committed to actively fostering joint internships, practical training, and collaborative education for Doctorate and Master Degree Programs, with a focused approach towards tackling critical in national technological challenges. This concerted effort aims to expedite the incubation and implementation of groundbreaking research outcomes.
