The Satellite Energy Phase III Project, equipped with the world's largest multi-carbon alcohol production facility, marks a pivotal step in reinforcing the C3 industrial chain of Satellite Chemical and expanding the advantages of the industrial chain. As a major project in Zhejiang Province, it has garnered attention from leaders at all levels since the commencement of its construction, providing robust support for its high-quality development. Once completed, the project will resolve domestic technological bottlenecks, elevate the integration level of the industrial chain to unprecedented heights, and catalyze the clustered development of advanced manufacturing in Jiaxing, thereby creating a platform for "Ten Thousands of Hectares, Billions of Yuan."

On the morning of April 29, the first "Mutual Learning and Competition" event of 2024 took place in Jiaxing. Participants visited Pinghu to observe the Satellite Energy Phase III Project under construction. Jiaxing municipal leaders, including Chen Wei, Li Jun, Gao Linghui, and Chen Lizhong, along with Pinghu municipal leaders Zhong Xudong and Zhou Junbo, attended the event.

 

During the onsite inspection of the project, Zhong Xudong, Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, briefed the attendees on Pinghu's economic performance in the first quarter of this year and provided an overview of the Satellite Energy Phase III Project.

Covering a total area of 516 mu with a total investment of 10.15 billion yuan, the project's main products and capacities include an annual output of 800,000 tons of multi-carbon alcohol, 900,000 tons of propylene, 80,000 tons neopentyl glycol, 40,000 tons of hydrogen and so on. Upon completion and operation, the project is expected to achieve an annual output value exceeding 15 billion yuan. The project will be implemented in two phases, with the first phase focusing on the multi-carbon alcohol section and the second phase on the propylene section.

 

Key Features of the Project:

1.     Supply Chain Extension:

The city is focused on enhancing the "415X" provincial and "135N" Jiaxing advanced manufacturing clusters, establishing a three-dimensional and scalable new material industrial system. With upstream chemical raw material production enterprises at its core and downstream new material enterprises and cogeneration as supporting facilities, the project aims to fill the gaps in the industrial chain and enhance its stability. The multi-carbon alcohol section of the Satellite Energy Phase III Project plans to achieve self-sufficiency in products, integrate the industrial chain, independently develop the process package, and solve domestic technological bottlenecks. Moreover, the facility is set to become the world's largest, leading in operational levels internationally.

 

2.     High-Quality and Efficient:

With an investment and output in the billions, this project represents a super-large-scale endeavor with high investment intensity and per-mu average benefits, setting a benchmark for the industry. The city provides "full-process" tracking and guidance services in the style of "Ping Mama" for the project. Notably, the project's progress rate has broken records of similar domestic projects, with the construction period of the multi-carbon alcohol section is 15 months, which is shortened by 9 months compared to conventional construction periods of similar domestic projects.

 

3.     Four-Port Linkage:

Dushan Port serves as a vital hub port for sea-river intermodal transport in the Yangtze River Delta region and is designated as a national first-class open port. It has completed the construction of 23 terminal berths, including 10 chemical berths and 13 multipurpose and bulk cargo berths. Leveraging its convenient port and transportation advantages, along with comprehensive port city supporting services, the project's development will be further accelerated, assisting Dushan Port in creating a platform for "Ten Thousands of Hectares, Billions of Yuan."
