Recently, significant achievements have been made in the construction of STL research platforms, after high-end new materials of α-olefins has been selected as a key enterprise research institute in Zhejiang Province, the project of "New Energy Development and Utilization - Battery Materials and Components" has been selected as a major special project in the "Leading Wild Goose" Program of Zhejiang Province, which both honors are important components of the Zhejiang Provincial Technology Innovation Center system.
The major special project selected for the "Leading Wild Goose" Program - "New Energy Development and Utilization - Battery Materials and Components" is a "Low Expansion/High Adhesion Lithium-ion Battery Electrode Adhesive Research and Development" project led by STL and participated by universities and enterprises such as Zhejiang University. This project focuses on the needs of new energy development under the dual carbon strategy and innovatively develops water-based polyacrylic acid (PAA) lithium battery adhesives.
Electrode adhesive is an important component in lithium batteries. Compared to other adhesives, PAA lithium-ion battery electrode adhesive has the potential to become a binder in the next generation of high-energy density lithium-ion battery negative electrode materials due to its low expansion rate/high adhesion. It is more environmentally friendly and has an important significance for the development of the new energy industry.
STL has been actively responding to the decision and deployment of Zhejiang Province to "build a global advanced manufacturing base", with R&D investment reaching new highs year after year, and focusing on promoting the deep integration of the "industrial chain" and "innovation chain". In the first three quarters of 2023, R&D expenses exceeded 1.2 billion, a year-on-year increase of 24%. In July of this year, [QZ1] (2023? Is last year, July 2024 has not happened) STL signed an agreement with Jiaxing Economic Development Zone to invest in the construction of a global research and development center, creating a world-class research center.
